Built using either UPVC or aluminium, a heritage window can be provided with a double or triple glazed unit, whereas traditional timber windows would generally only be single glazed.
Styles of heritage window
A few styles fall into the heritage window category and the flush sash window would be one of the main ones, identifiable for having sashes that close into the window frame to create a flush finish.
The cottage window is also heritage in its styling, possessing Georgian bars to give it the cottage-like aesthetic of a Georgian window.
Fitted on the inside or outside of a window pane, they form an attractive grid pattern on a cottage window, visually dividing the pane into individual sections.
