Double glazing is a minimum in the modern home…

Most windows utilise plain glass as it gives occupants a clear perspective of the outside world. There are other types of glass you can consider too including energy saving glass and privacy glass. As the name suggests, energy saving glass is designed to help you save significant money on your fuel bills by helping you use less energy in the home. Privacy glass enables you to obscure what those on the outside can see when they look through the glass.

Double Glazing

There are still hundreds of homes in the local area that have yet to be upgraded from single glazing to double glazing. Single glazing performs relatively poorly in terms of energy efficiency, whereas double glazing is renowned for how good it is at lowering fuel costs and keep warm air trapped indoors. It also puts a block on any cold draughts from the outdoors making their way into your property. The money-saving abilities of double glazing alone should be enough to persuade you to make the change.

Triple Glazing

Triple glazing has existed in colder countries like those within Scandinavia for many years and has only just started to take off in the UK. One of the reasons for its increased uptake throughout the country is the escalating cost of household fuel. Triple glazed windows can vastly reduce your energy bills and will make your abode feeling more warm and comfortable than ever before. That third pane of glass really does make a big difference.

Privacy Glazing

If there’s anywhere you deserve a bit of privacy it’s in your home. Nothing is more off-putting than prying eyes. If you feel like privacy is hard to come by because of how your house is positioned e.g. in close proximity to a busy pedestrian street, then privacy glazing will help blur the inside of your home somewhat. It’s a very clever glass though as it will continue to supply your property with a good amount of natural sunlight.

Framing options of traditional, contemporary and sculptured…

UPVC manufactured windows are the most popular choice of window because of the incredible thermal efficiency that UPVC is renowned for. Because it is such an energy efficient material it means that it will keep your fuel bills more under control. Any heat loss that occurred prior to their installation will also be vastly reduced, with draughts and cold spots eliminated. The toughness of UPVC is another asset in its favour as it can withstand almost anything thrown at it, including the most adverse weather. You don’t even have to clean it as the surface is totally weather-resistant and can easily be wiped.

Aluminium has fast become a popular alternative to UPV becauC, mainly because of the slimness of the profile and its ability to draw in larger amounts of natural sunlight due to the large expanse of glass. . The many powder coated finishes that can be applied to an aluminium frame, give loads of colour options and there is even a  sublimated woodgrain finish that looks just like natural wood.

You may question us when we inform you that our Heritage windows and doors aren’t authentic timber, such is their likeness to the real thing in terms of style, dimension and finish. Even the window sits flush with the window frame when fully closed – just as you would expect in a traditional timber equivalent. What you can’t tell from just looking at a Heritage window frame is that it is made of a composite material which gives the product all the energy efficient benefits of a modern day window or door and needs no form of maintenance. Those living in conservation areas that need to replace their existing design could find the Heritage range to be their best option.

Available variety of colour finishes so no matter the style of your property…

James Oliver windows come in a variety of colour options including golden oak, classic cream, rustic cherry, white, grey, rosewood, whitegrain, black and green allowing you complete freedom to choose a colour finish which will truly compliment your home.

UPVC Colours

Whilst brilliant white UPVC windows are still very popular, over recent years there has been an increase in the popularity of coloured UPVC windows. Our woodgrain UPVC windows have all the benefits of UPVC windows but due to the woodgrain texture they look and feel like traditional timber framed windows meaning you get the best of both worlds. In addition to our coloured woodgrain range, we can create or match any colour you like for your replacement windows. The colour coating used is a specially developed paint that is sprayed on and bonds perfectly to the UPVC giving a smooth satin finish that forms an extra protective coating that never needs re-painting. It doesn’t chip, crack or flake, and is guaranteed to stay weatherproof for 10 years.

Aluminium Colours

An 11-stage powder coating process allows for a massive array of colour options for our aluminium range. Some may have a liking for a look that closely resembles traditional timber and who could blame them? If that’s the case then they’ll be attracted to our woodgrain finishes which are achieved by conducting a method called sublimination, resulting in Walnut, Rosewood and Oak effects that look just like real wood.

Heritage Colours

Our Heritage range come in a ranger of period finishes with colours comprising of Clotted Cream, Cotswold Biscuit, Painswick, Eclectic Grey, Corse Lawn and English, Irish and Silvered Oak.
